Behold my Wisteria!
My business is like my garden. I plant bulbs, seeds, perennials and cross my fingers. Truth be told, I don’t have a grand plan for my garden. I strategize to the point of choosing whether something should go in full sun or shade.
Spring is a telltale time. You begin to see new growth and find what didn’t survive the winter. This year I lost my poppies and I will miss their bright, airy presence. So when I was observing my Wisteria, I was preparing to be sad.
I planted the Wisteria about two years ago. It was offered at our local plant emporium and so I took a chance that it could thrive in this zone. I picked it purely for its romantic qualities. I remember it being a part of Desperate Housewives (Wisteria Lane) and wanted to bring this element into my humble surroundings. Last year I celebrated one bloom.
When I looked at the branches just a few days ago, I saw no signs of life. Two days ago, I saw buds! This morning I see at least six potential blooms, which just thrills me! Even though the rest of the plant is looking pretty barren, there is leafy goodness springing from various places.
It’s like my business. There are days where it seems that an avenue has been exhausted and become a dead end. Then there is a message, seemingly out of the blue, and the potential for blooming!
